2.2.2 General Refund Policy: Any registrant who is unable to compete because they are the sole registrant in their chosen weight class may receive a refund of their registration fee. Prior to issuing a refund, the USMTO will attempt to involuntarily transfer the affected registrants, however, all transfers must be in accordance with the sanctioning entity’s maximum weight discrepancy standard. If sanctioning entity’s weight discrepancy standard disallows a registrant’s involuntary transfer, then the USMTO will promptly issue the registrant a full refund of their registration fee. Registrants under this circumstance may request a refund of their registration fee no earlier than 21 days prior to the date of the first official weigh-in. The USMTO Organizing Committee may refund fees at its discretion to a registrant, where in the committee’s opinion, doing so would be in the best interest of the USMTO. Disqualified registrants will not receive a refund of their registration fee(s).

2.2.3 Registration Protection: In addition to the general refund policy, Registration Protection will allow an athlete to receive a “no questions asked” refund of their registration fee. Covered registrants may request a registration fee refund before the start of bracket consolidation (typically 30 days before the event). Registrants must opt-in for Registration Protection at the time of their registration.

2.2.4. Deferral Policy: Prior to the bracket consolidation period (§ 2.6), registrants may request a deferral to the next available event. The USMTO may deny deferral requests made after the start bracket consolidation. Refer to the event announcements for the bracket consolidation schedule.
